Mahashree
Times flies, it seems just like yesterday that Mishti was born on a hot afternoon on July 29, 2009. She’s turned four and her new discoveries & achievements amaze us. Learning to write alphabets, numbers, shapes, learning songs, her journey to adulthood has begun. My caterpillar is turning into a beautiful butterfly with wings, to fly into an unknown world, full of possibilities, opportunities and uncertainities. Remember that we are always with you my baby.

This is Mishti's version of Lungi Dance from the 2013 blockbuster - Chennai Express starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The song sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and others is a tribute to Rajnikant. Mishti is rather fond of this song and dances to it almost every day. Well it's only a matter of time, before thsi song is replaced by another song.

On the occassion of Janmashtami this year, Mishti was dressed as Little Krishna for her school cleebrations. And guess what, I haven't seen any other child of her age, so fascinated by Krishna. Not only does she know how to stand like him, holding the flute at just the right angle, she even elicits a sound resembling the sound of a flute. I am amazed at how she has managed to imbibe the traits of her favourite God- Sri Krishna. Truly, she is a blessing from the Lord himself!
My Little Krishna, aint' she looking adorable! |

Lodhi Garden, in South Delhi is spread over 90 acres and has Mohammed Shah's tomb, Sikander Lodi's tomb, Sheesh Gumbad and Bada Gumad. A beautiful park, over the weekend it is an ideal picnic spot for families looking for a day out in the open. Mishti is a regular visitor to the park and we do manage to go for picnics almost every month. She enjoys the open spaces and the greenery, perfect for a game of football or simply just having a run. The icing on the cake are the ducks, found in abundance in the park. If you enjoy walking and are game for some time out with your family away from the claustrophobic mall culture, then this is the place for you.

Kartaniya Ghat Trip
Kartaniya Ghat, on the Indo-Nepal border near Bahraich is an undiscovered gem. No commercial resorts blaring bollywood numbers, no tiger touts promising you a 'tiger spotting' and no tiger safaris, it is truly a paradise.
March to October months are the best for tiger spotting but in case you haven't been able to spot the elusive tiger, worry not as the ambience will more than make up for it.
We had gone in December in foggy and bone chilling cold and stayed at Tharu Huts. And if you are game for a round of boating, then you can cross over river Gherua and reach Nepal side.
The Nepal side of the sanctuary boasts of rhinos and elephants, although we didn't dare go as the deputy forest office warned us of elehpants rampaging the villages.
However all in all a memorable experience something which we will surely repeat. A must visit for nature lovers, a word of caution though, before packing your bags, do remember to get your reservations done with the forest office at bahraich or lucknow.

Cycle ki sawaari
Mahashree's first attempts at riding a bicycle drew a blank but one fine day, she picked up the bicycle and started to ride. Well, this is not to say that she started to ride well from day 1 but she started to do what we call in hindi- 'kaichi'. This is one of the amateur videos shot by Sornendu. Mishti started to ride bicycle at her nani's house (Lucknow) when she had gone for her first summer break (from Kidzee) in May 2012.
Now that I have taken to updating her blog back with a venegance, there's more to come by way of more pics, videos and yes more of her update in the last few months.
